969,818. Resilient joints. SOC. APPLICAZIONI COMMA ANTIVIBRANTI SAGA S.p.A. July 11, 1962, No. 26620/62. Heading F2S. In a resilient joint, e.g. for connecting a shockabsorber 10 to a vehicle body 13, a spigot 11 on the upper end of the shock absorber extends, with radial clearance, through a hole in a metal wall of the body 13 and a pair of flat rubber washers 14, 15 are compressed between the end face 10a of the shock-absorber and the wall 13 and between the latter and a metal washer 16 held by a nut 12 threaded on to the end of the spigot 11. Sets of spaced recesses 32, 33 separated by radial bridge portions, such as shown at 34, Fig. 3, are formed in the end faces of each washer the sets of recesses being located on axially-coinciding pitch circles concentric with the central aperture of the washer. The portion of each end face of the washer which is located between the recesses 32 or 33 is of inwardly-directed frusto-conical form.
