Abstract
969,130. Reservoir pens. GUNTHER WAGNER VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Nov. 7, 1962 [Nov. 15, 1961], No. 42052/62. Heading B6P. A reservoir pen using cartridge-type refills and providing an emergency supply of ink, has an ink-feed tube 15 extending into the barrel 2 and piercing the mouthpiece 5a of the cartridge 1a, the tube 15 having in addition to the axial opening 11, a radial opening 9 which is normally covered by the mouthpiece 5a but can be exposed to draw ink from the space 10 when the cartridge is exhausted, by moving the cartridge 1a forwardly inside the barrel. As shown, two refills 1a, 1b are placed in the barrel 2, and screwing the barrel on to the point section 4 moves the refill 1a into its normal position covering the opening 9. To move the cartridges forwardly to expose the opening 9, a button 6 which does not protrude from the end of the barrel, is provided. This button may be spring-pressed outwardly as shown, or may have an elastic skirt part 17, Fig. 2 (not shown), which frictionally engages the inner surface of the barrel to retain the button when it has been pushed inwardly.
