Abstract

968,615. Spray producers. P. GIESLER. Dec. 1, 1961 [Dec. 9, 1960], No. 43026/61. Heading B2F. In an atomizer nozzle of a plant used for the oiling of wool or cloth, the oil flow therein is controlled by an electromagnetically operated valve 29, Fig. 4, a solenoid 31 of which is energized to open the valve against a spring 33. The nozzle has an annular connector member 22 provided with grooves 28, Fig. 4 (and Figs. 5, 6, not shown) to prevent gyratory motion within the nozzle of the air used for atomization. Oil is fed to a nozzle cavity 24 through a pipe 2, Fig. 1, and passes to the nozzle outlet when the valve is opened. The head "x" of a constant level gravity oil feed tank 12, Fig. 1, above the nozzle is adjustable so as to adjust the static pressure of the oil at the nozzle outlet. Air is fed from a compressor 7 via pipe 3 and connector 20 to a passage 19 and via the grooves 28 to the nozzle outlet. A cable to the solenoid enters at opening 32. A pump 6 draws oil from a tank 8 through a strainer 9 and feeds it to the tank 12 whose level is maintained constant by means of an overflow pipe 13, 14.
