Abstract

1327848 Lubricators SCOVILL MFG CO 24 Aug 1971 [31 Aug 1970] 39737/71 Heading F2A [Also in Division B1] In apparatus for supplying oil to an air flow, the latter passes from an inlet 14 to an outlet 16, Fig. 4, through a Venturi 26 positioned in a by-pass chamber 22, the by-pass being normally closed by a resilient bifurcated flap 34 (see also Figs. 5, 6 and 7, not shown) which is deflected by excess pressure in either direction to open the by-pass. The lubricator has an oil reservoir 18, Fig. 3, which is pressurized from the upstream side of the Venturi through passage 42, shut-off valve 44 and passage 40, oil being supplied to the Venturi throat through dip tube 50, adjustable ball control valve 58, passage 60, tube 62, sight glass 64 and funnel 66. The valve 44 is opened by screwing in the oil pillar plug 48. The reservoir 18 is secured to the housing 12 by a bayonet catch type locking ring 20 (see Figs. 8-11, not shown) and has a drain valve 70.
