Air is supplied to the propeller(s) at the bow of a vessel to produce a sternardly directed stream and to reduce the resistance of the vessel to forward motion. The propeller B may be supplied with air via an inlet D, conducting tube C and outlet E. The air may be supplied by a compressor. The air tube may be surrounded to encage the propeller and more air outlets may be provided.
