Abstract
1334136 Jet steering devices J M VOITH GmbH 19 April 1971 [27 Feb 1970] 22565/71 Heading B7V A jet steering device located in the bow of a ship comprises an inlet 7, inpeller 3, control valves 8, 9 and outlet pipes 5, 6 which terminate beyond the skin of the hull to increase the effectiveness of the jets at high speed. The device may, according to a modification (not shown), be accommodated in a bow bulge disposed ahead of stem 10. The pipes are preferably elliptical in cross-section with their major axes horizontal.
