Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0966015/C1/1> wherein X is an oxygen or sulphur atom, R is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy radical and R1 is an alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms, and the acid addition salts thereof. The compounds are prepared by heating a compound of the formula: <FORM:0966015/C1/2> in which X, R and R1 are as defined above, in an inert solvent with a haloformic ester of the general formula Hal-COOR1, in which Hal is a halogen atom and R1 is an alkyl radical containing up to 4 carbon atoms, to give a compound of the formula: <FORM:0966015/C1/3> in which X, R, R1 and R1 are as defined above, and removing the carbothoxy group by acid or alkaline hydrolysis to give the desired end product, which can if desired be converted to its salts by conventional procedures. Examples are given.
