[Also in Division B8] In a method of ensuring uniform flow of sticky material through a drier 1 in which the material is fed on the " fluidized bed " principle over perforated transport surfaces 2, 3 by a treating medium circulated by fans 12, 13 connected to manifolds 8, 9, endless conveyers 14, extending above the transport surfaces 2, 3 and provided with a small number of transverse bars 15, are driven by sprockets 16 disposed above the layer of material and guided by rails 17. The conveyers 14 pass across a vertical conduit 6 connecting the transport surfaces 2, 3 as well as across the inlet and outlet conduits 5, 7 to prevent the material from caking and obstructing these passages and are driven at a speed substantially equal to the normal rate of flow as produced by the treating medium.
