961,998. Waveguides; velocity-modulated beam tubes. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON. May 23, 1961 [May 20, 1960], No. 18661/61. Headings H1D and H1W. An output coupler for a resonant cavity comprises two collinear waveguide branches A extending in opposite directions from the cavity and joined to the side arms of a T- junction 3 to provide a single output. The cavity 2 may be an electron beam tube, e.g. a klystron, extending perpendicularly to the axis of waveguides A. The envelope of the klystron may extend as far as waveguide seals 15, 16. A matching post 25 is provided in the T-junction.
