958,490. Cookers; drip pans. BELLING & CO. Ltd. April 10, 1961 [Feb. 12, 1960], No. 5120/60. Heading F4W. A domestic cooker has a hob 1 with four circular radiant plates 3, two spillage trays 8, 9, and a grill 4 above the cupboard 5 which has flanges 6 supporting a grill plate 7. The spillage trays 8, 9 are domed with peripheral lips 15, so that a channel 16 is formed round the trays to hold the droppings, and may be of stainless steel or chromium-plated metal or sheet metal with a stove-baked enamel surface. Another embodiment of the spillage trays, Figs. 4, 5, 6 (not shown), has a dome under each radiant with a dished top to reflect back the heat from the radiant plate. Each radiant element is supported by radial members 18 secured by brackets 19 to the hob 1, and is detachably connected by terminals 20 to a set of heat-insulated cables 25 forming an assembly 21 with supply leads 22, 23 mounted in a flexible cable passing through or below a control panel or splash plate at the back of the cooker.
