607,389. Cooking units or ranges. EWART CATERING EQUIPMENT, Ltd., and WALLIS, B. H. Feb. 1, 1946, No. 3248. [Class 126] [Also in Group XVII] A cooking range has a rectangular sheet metal hob 1 with apertures for gas burners 5 or other heating devices, each aperture being surrounded by an upstanding flange 2 which co-operates with a depending flange on the base of a utensil to locate the utensil above the heaters. The hob slopes downwardly towards the front and is provided with drain troughs 8, 9, fitted with drain tubes, whilst at the rear are flues 11, 12. The tubular legs 26 may be spaced so that bridging rails 27 support utensils .not in use. The utensils have bases constructed to fit over the flange 2 of the hob and are provided with draw-off cocks positioned to discharge into the drain troughs 8, 9, when the utensil is in place on the hob.
