Abstract
491,169. Gas and electric cooking- stoves. CHALLET, E. April 6, 1937, No. 9745. Convention date, April 6, 1936. [Classes 39 (iii) and 126] A gas or electric cooking-stove 1 and an accessory heating or cooking apparatus 7, such as a griller, boiler, hot-plate, or platewarmer, having its own heating elements, are connected together by a U-shaped member 6, passing through or fitting around the accessory apparatus 7, the limbs 5 of the U-shaped member engaging with tubes 4 in the stove, and the accessory apparatus and stove are provided with corresponding interengaging plugs 8 and sockets 3 to connect the heating elements in the accessory apparatus to the electric or gas supply of the stove. The limbs 5, plugs 8, and sockets 3 are of the same spacing for all auxiliary apparatus. In the form shown, the auxiliary apparatus 7 is supported by the stove 1, but the auxiliary apparatus, if large enough, may rest on the floor, and the U-shaped member 6, which passes round it, would serve to prevent accidental displacement.
