958,377. Packaging. K. KÍRBER. Sept. 19, 1960 [Dec. 8, 1959], No. 32104/60. Heading B8C. A method of .wrapping an article comprises feeding a web E (Fig. 1) by means of a roller 12 and a suction drum 13, the web being severed into wrapper lengths by means of a rotary cutter 10, to a pair of suction wheels 4, 5 mounted one on each side of a folding channel 1, the wheels gripping the wrapper by means of suction ducts in the region of the longitudinal edges of the web to control it during the wrapping of an article 8. The article, e.g. a cigarette box, is pushed by a dog 2 on a feed chain along the channel 1 to urge the web between the folding members 14, 15 which fold it to U-form around the article. The folding of the end tucks F is carried out by folders 16, 17 (Fig. 3).
