958,298. Moulding confectionery. JAMES PASCALL Ltd. Nov. 14, 1962 [Nov. 15, 1961], No. 40866/61. Heading B5A. Confectionery of the type having an outer shell of e.g. toffee or chocolate and a core of e.g. fruit, nut, jelly or fondant is made by pouring toffee 5 into silicone rubber moulds 1, deforming the moulds by plungers 7, either before or after filling, allowing the toffee to partly set and then allowing the moulds to return to their original shape so that the toffee takes up the shape shown in Fig. 3. Cores are then placed in the moulds and covered by a further charge of toffee. The finished sweets are ejected by plungers or by passing the moulds over vibrators or ramps. An apparatus (see Fig. 7, not shown) having moulds on an endless chain conveyer is described.
