1290359 Coating confectionery AUGUST STORCK GmbH 17 Dec 1969 61597/69 Heading A2A [Also in Divisions B4 and B5] Confectionery moulding apparatus includes open topped moulds each provided with an ejection plunger and mounted on a conveyor. The moulds are passed beneath a feed station at which confectionery material is deposited into them, the moulds being rotated prior to or immediately after deposition by a driving means. In a particular embodiment moulds 22 mounted on chain 25 are passed through a heating chamber 26, under a parting oil sprayer and thence under a series of selectively usable introducing devices 29-33 which can deposit an outer shell, a solid filling such as a nut raisin or cherry, a semi-liquid centre, a powder centre, and a lid as and when necessary. The moulds are provided with coupling elements 24 which cooperate, at a position under introducing device 29, with coupling elements 36 mounted upon a driving motor 34, 35. After passage under the introducing device the filled moulds pass through a cooling chamber 27 and over a central device 38 which actuates the ejection plungers to push the moulded confections onto a take-off conveyor 39. Introducing devices may be provided for inserting handles in the confections and two cast shells may be superimposed to form ball type sweets. In a second embodiment (see Fig. 21 not shown), the moulds are mounted in sets upon the conveyor and are rotated from below by a motor acting through a gear train and coupling elements.
