Abstract

957,509. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. P. MESHBERG. May 18, 1960 [May 18, 1959], No. 17618/60. Heading FIR. A dispenser for pressurized material is mounted on a container 11, has a valve means with a projecting' tubular stem portion 17 which is movable relative to the container, and has a directional applicator 23 removably mounted on a member 18 fixedly carried by and movable with the stem portion 17, the member being formed with a passage complementary to that of the stem. The applicator has a flange 30 seating against a collar 21 of the member 18, which telescopically engages the neck 13 of a valve mounting member 14 on the container. For storage the applicator is removed and the container telescoped in cylindrical part 28 and a dust cover 32 may be mounted thereover, Fig. 4 (not shown). In a modification, Fig. 11 (not shown), the closed end portion 24 of the applicator is telescopically mounted therein and is slotted to facilitate free flow of air through the applicator. For storage, the applicator is collapsed and telescoped over the container Fig. 7 (not shown). In a further modification Fig. 12 (not shown) a knob is formed integral with the end wall of the applicator to facilitate the extension of the applicator and its removal from the container.
