Abstract

900,512. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. V. C. A. Inc. Oct. 20, 1960 [Oct. 20, 1959], No. 36003/60. Class 102(2). A combined cap and actuator button assembly 24 for an aerosol container comprises a fixed cap 34 having a raised periphery 37 surrounding a button 26. The cap 34 has an access opening 49, defined by a flange 48, having a non-circular configuration closely fitting a raised portion 52 of the button 26; the shape of portion 52 is indicative of the direction of discharge. Button 26 is located on a valve-actuating stem 22 and slidably supported by an inner wall 41. An outlet passage 32 in button 26 leads to a nozzle 29 slidable in slots in inner and outer walls, 40, 41. Cap 34 is secured to the neck of the container by detents 46 on inner wall 41 which engage beneath a rim 43.
