Rotation of a piston ring d in its groove is prevented by a sleeve a which is expanded in a hole b in the piston c so that it is frictionally held therein by a pin h pressed into the sleeve, to latter projecting from the hole and engaging a recess in the ring. Axially extending notches i in the pin close when it is inserted in the sleeve and cause it to be frictionally held therein. The sleeve is axially split at f and has circumferential ribs e which bite into the piston material.
