Abstract

956,672. Haymaking machines. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. April 11, 1963 [April 18, 1962], No. 14546/63. Heading A1F. In a haymaking machine, of the kind having at least two rake-heads 7 rotating about vertical axes and having a main driving gear 4 in common, the bearings 12 of the rake-heads being mounted on a common support 1 extending transversely of the direction of travel, the support is arcuate and the main gear is located at, or close to, the centre of curvature of the arc, the rakehead bearings 12 being adjustably slidable along the support. In the centre of the support 1 a beam 2 projects forwardly to carry a housing 3 in which is mounted a changespeed gear 4 with two alternative inputshafts 6 and two output-shafts 7 connected to the rake-heads by telescopic connections 11. A draw-bar 10 is pivoted on the housing to occupy alternative positions 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP>. The rake-heads terminate upwardly in brackets 13 slidable along the support and reversing gear-boxes 12 connected to the members 11. The heads can be moved into various alternative positions 17<SP>1</SP> and may be driven in either direction either in unison or in contra-rotation.
