Abstract

1,074,881. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. Aug. 7, 1964 [Aug. 15, 1963], No. 32365/64. Heading A1F. A drum-tedder comprises a frame 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 with a crop-working drum 14 journalled therein about a horizontal axis transverse to the direction of travel, the drum rotating so that the crop is carried forwardly up and over the drum for rearward discharge, there being arranged at the rear of the drum a transverse series of vertical baffles 38 each capable of being rotated about an axis perpendicular to that of a drum and of being fixed in an adjusted position on either side of a central position. The baffles are attached to a further baffle 31 which is pivoted to a hood 30 surrounding the drum to which it forms an extension. The machine comprises a central gearbox 1 flanked by two tubular members 2, 3, one of which, 2, houses a shaft driving the drum through chain-gearing 8 housed in the end-member 4. The tubes 2, 3 carry an attachmentframe 21, 22 for the power lift of a tractor 21B which drives the input shaft 11 of the gearbox through a telescopic shaft (not shown). The machine is mounted on castors 29.
