Abstract

955,865. Window regulators. WILMOTBREEDEN Ltd. Oct. 26, 1962 [Nov. 1, 1961], No. 39031/61. Heading E2M. A window regulator comprises a toothed segment 1 or the like which can be rotated about a fixed axis 4 by a pinion 9, and a window lifting arm 12 which is hinged to the segment about an axis 17 inclined to the axis 4 and engages the segment at a position spaced from the hinge axis in a manner which permits movement of the arm about the hinge axis and also assists in transmitting the window operating force to the arm. The engagement is provided by a pin 18 which projects from either the arm or the segment and engages a slot (not shown) in the other of these parts. Preferably the pin has a head to limit the hinging movement of the arm, and the axis 17 is perpendicular to the axis 4.
