Abstract

954,187. Gas fuelled lighters. B. KOLLISCH, [trading as KOLLISCH GEB.]. March 19, 1963 [Nov. 12, 1962], No. 10857/63. Heading F4F. A screw for adjustably compressing a filter 3 to vary the flame height of a gas lighter has a head 7 formed with a hexagonal portion adapted to be engaged by a spanner and with a cylindrical portion 11 on which a hand wheel 6 is mounted with a friction fit. The screw can be rotated either by using the spanner or by means of the hand wheel. When the screw is turned by the spanner the wheel moves with the screw until projections 6a, 6b on the wheel engage abutments 10a, 10b on the body of the lighter; on further rotation of the screw the wheel remains stationary. Rotation of the screw by means of the wheel is limited by the projections 6a, 6b engaging the abutments 10a, 10b A nozzle valve 4 is incorporated in the screw and is lifted by a lever 9.
