Abstract
An alloy containing in percentage by weight <TABS:0952288/C3/1> the ratio Mg:Zn lying in the range 0.35-0.5:1 is solution treated at 850-1000 DEG F., quenched, and then aged at 220-275 DEG F. for 5-30 hours followed by ageing at 330-380 DEG F. for 4-20 hours. The second ageing treatment may follow immediately after the first ageing or may be separated from it by intermediate cooling.
