Abstract
951,815. Pulley blocks. G. A. M. PETERSEN. July 20, 1961, No. 26364/61. Heading B8B. [Also in Division F2] A pulley sheave for stringing electric high tension cables comprises a hanger 13, Fig. 1, adapted for attachment to an insulator 17, and having a web 36, Fig. 3, disposed on one side of the pulley 11. A large opening 63 above the pulley permits the passage of cable splices, the sides 61, 77 being merged into the pulley groove 26. A spring loaded keeper 66 permits lateral insertion of the cable into the groove 26. The pulley is mounted on a boss 47 carrying a bearing 49 retained by snap rings 52, 53 and totally enclosed by a cover plate 56. The pulley 11 (see Division F2) has a wear liner 27 of resilient conductive material such as neoprene impregnated with graphite which prevents the build up of static electricity. Ears 41 and other lightening holes 37, 38 provide attachment points for slinging ropes.
