[Also in Divisions B7 and F2] A flexible sheet material, which may be used in the construction of an endless belt, or moving footpath, comprises a sheet of rubber reinforced by a plurality of stranded cables, each of which has been treated with a lubricant which may be grease, graphite, molybdenum disulphide or a mineral oil which may be applied during the manufacture of the cables or by subsequent coating, or both. The lubricated cables, which may comprise successive strands wound in opposite directions, may be enclosed within a plastic sheath about which the rubber sheet is formed by moulding. The lubricant may be replenished. during the life of the article, by injection.
