1,204,930. Covering cables. M. MARTINEZ. 14 Feb., 1969 [12 March, 1968], No. 11976/68. Heading B8G. A machine for wrapping paper tape 29 around an electric cable comprises a plurality of carriers 10 for reels of tape, a closed casing 25 housing the carriers and means, e.g. gears 16, 18, 20, belt 17 and shafts 19, 21, for rotating the carriers and casing about the cable axis, the casing enclosing the point at which wrapping takes place, and being supported at each end in a bearing. The casing 25 prevents displacement of and damage to the tape by air currents, and may be rotated by means other than the carrier rotating means. An access opening with a door is provided in the casing.
