Abstract

912,406. Head-sets. AKUSTISCHE UND KINO-GERATE G.m.b.H. Dec. 6, 1960 [March 17, 1960], No. 41893/60. Class 40 (4). The headband of a telephone headset is sheathed in a plastics material which is formed so as to provide a duct for a cable passing between receivers at each end of the headband, the sheath having a slit along the length of the duct so that the duct may be prised open to instal or remove the cable. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the headset comprises a flexible metal band 8 embedded in a sheath 9 of plastics material, the ends of the band 8 carrying wire stirrups 4 and 5 which slidably mount receivers 1 and 2. The receivers are connected by a cable 7 lying in a duct 10 in the sheath 9 and have a single external cable 6. A slit 11 in the sheath allows the duct to be opened up to instal the cable, metal clips 12 securing the cable by gripping each end of the headband. The slit 11 may be obliqueto provide an overlap which seals the duct 10 or may be open to leave the cable exposed.
