949,252. Making crank-shafts. THEODOR WUPPERMANN G.m.b.H. Oct. 11, 1961 [Oct. 15, 1960], No. 36544/61. Heading B3A. [Also in Division F2U] In a method of making a crank-shaft a series of crank webs 1 having pin-shaped extensions 2, 3 are fitted with sleeves 4, 5 of a wear resistant hardenable material and joined by butt welding. The pins may be parallel or tapered, the sleeves shrunk on and the welding disposed on or offset from the middle of the journal.
