948,481. Photographic diffusion-transfer procedures. KODAK Ltd. April 28,1960 [April 28, 1959], No. 14444/59. Heading G2C. 5 : 5 Dimethyl-2-thiohydantoin, 3: 5 : 5-trimethyl- 2-thiohydantoin, or similar compounds described only in a general formula (not shown), are used in the receiving layer containing development nuclei or a substance capable of forming nuclei, or in the transfer developer, for this process to produce silver images of increased blackness. An unhardened emulsion layer may overlie such receiving layer and be removed by warm water after exposure and image transfer. Use of antifoggants, developing agents and silver halide solvents in either emulsion or developer and similar variations are indicated.
