Abstract
947,423. Sand-blasting. L. O. G. EDELL. Jan. 11, 1961, No. 1120/61. Heading B3D. Sand-blasting apparatus comprises a vessel 2 containing sand; a compressor supplies compressed air to the vessel through inlet pipe 4, water separator 3, adjusting valve 5 and pipe 6a. A manometer 7 is provided. Compressed air from the valve 5 also passes to pipe 6b connected to a T-junction 17 to which additional compressed air is supplied by the compressor through inlet pipe 9, valve 10 and pipe 8. The T-junction 17 is connected to a T-junction 13. Between the bottom of the vessel 2 and the T-junction 13 is a valve 11 to which is connected an elbow 12 having its outlet coaxial with the pipe 6b and with a pipe 16 which serves for connecting a flexible hose leading to the blasting nozzle. The pipe 16 is connected to the T- junction 13 by an adjustable coupling 14, a nut 15 securing it in the desired position relative to the outlet of the elbow 12.
