Abstract
944,790. Ventilating and air conditioning apparatus. DELL'ORTO CHIEREGATTI S.p.A. Aug. 7, 1962 [Aug. 14, 1961], No. 30206/62. Heading F4V. In an air heating and circulating unit of the induction type comprising a heat exchanger 1 forming a pervious lateral wall section of an air mixing chamber M, a plurality of rows of primary air nozzles 6, 7 open into the mixing chamber, the nozzles in each row which all extend parallel to the heat exchanger, being of the same height, the heights from row to row decreasing stepwise with increasing distance of the rows from the heat exchanger. Primary air enters through a plenum chamber 2 whence it flows through a silencing labyrinth 3 under the control of a valve 9 to the nozzles 3. The flows of air from the nozzles induce a flow of secondary air from the room through a front louvre 4 and through the heat exchanger into the mixing chamber whence it is discharged with the primary air through an upper louvre 5. Geometrical relationships for the heights of the nozzles from row to row to give maximum induction efficiency are described. In a modification a second heat exchanger is arranged to form the opposite wall of the unit and the heights of the nozzle rows decreases from both exchangers towards the central plane of the unit.
