944,464. Compressors. R. HINTZE. Sept. 21, 1962 [Oct. 12, 1961], No. 36084/62. Heading FIN. Surcharging of a reciprocating compressor is effected by allowing gas having been compressed within the crankcase 11 during the suction stroke of the piston 2 to pass through a channel 12 and an opening 13 in the cylinder wall at the lowest position of the piston and when the inlet valve 4 mounted on a valve plate 3 is closed. When the piston is at its uppermost position the crankcase is connected to the suction chamber 7 through a channel 17 and slot 14 in the cylinder wall and through a slot 16 in the piston.
