Abstract

943,596. Electrostatic precipitators. AMERICAN AIR FILTER CO. Inc. Oct. 18, 1962 [Oct. 31, 1961], No. 39515/62. Heading B2T. The discharge wires 6, in the pre-ionizing stage of an electrostatic precipitator with a collecting stage 3, are strung between tapered support arms 14 mounted on cross beams 9. The cross beams are of channel section slotted to receive the bifurcated ends of the support arms 14, the ends being forced open to fix the arms in place. The support arms 14 are made of spring tempered brass alloy.
