Abstract

1,016,905. Electrostatic precipitators. W. C. HOLMES & CO. Ltd. April 9, 1963 [April 10, 1962], No. 13698/62. Heading B2J. The discharge electrodes 10 of an electrostatic precipitator are each tensioned by a compression spring 24 which is compressed by a cap 25 screw-threaded on to a squaresectioned mounting rod 14, the square portion being adaptted to slide through an opening 23 in a frame member 11. Each electrode is anchored at its opposite end to a frame member 12 by means of a ferrule 26 engaging a keyhole slot 13. As shown in Fig. 1, the electrode 10 is secured into a slot 16 in the spring-urged rod 14 by a clip 19, 22. The axis of the electrode may be arranged in line with the axis of the rod either by off-setting the rod, Fig. 5 (not shown) or providing bores 29, 30, Fig. 6 (not shown) through which the end of the electrode can be inserted and secured by a pin 31.
