Heading G2J.[Also in Divisions A4 and E2] An adjustable support for cinematographic cameras comprises a base plate 2 and a camera supporting plate 1 which are interposed between the camera and the geared-head mount of the stand to which the plates are respectively screwed as at 6,the plates being releasably hinged at bolts 11 at each end, plate 1 having a spaced pair of blocks 22 on its longitudinal side edges carrying screws 23 engaging struts 27 whose other ends are engaged by similar blocks 24 and screws 25 on plate 2. Spring-loaded handling lugs 12 are used to withdraw coaxial bolts 11 from hinge barrels 15, while the connected hinge may be locked in position by turning lugs 12 down to engage in recesses 20 of the locking plate 19. The hinges are disengaged by pressing lugs 12 inwards and raising so that heels 21 engage recess 18 and lock there. In the embodiment shown, after the angle of tilt has been set the camera is slid on the mounting plate 4 dove-tailed into plate 1 until the whole assembly is approximately stable, screw 7 is then replaced in the appropriate hole 8.
