Abstract

1,150,867. Stands for typewriters. STENOTYPE GRANDJEAN. 29 Jan., 1968 [20 Nov., 1967], No. 4401/68. Heading A4H. A stand for supporting a typewriter comprises three legs 3 pivoted at their upper ends to a cylindrical member 1 through which passes a rod 16 on the upper end of which the typewriter is mounted, each leg comprising two channel sections 3a, 3b which are hinged together. The two leg sections 3a, 3b can be set in alignment or the lower section 3b can be folded into the upper section 3a. The joint between the leg sections includes a spring washer (10), a friction plate (11) and a spring blade (12) which automatically locks the section in aligned position. The rod 16 is locked in desired position by a screw 17 and the upper end of the rod is screwed into a tapped hole in the typewriter or in a member with arms of adjustable length with bent ends for clamping the typewriter. Alternatively a ball and socket joint may connect the rod 16 and the typewriter.
