An arrangement for fixing panels or sheets of building material in position comprises, a mounting member 11 having a flange 12 adjacent the side of which an edge of the panel or sheet is located so that the edge of the flange 12 projects outwardly beyond the outer face of the panel or sheet, and a channel shaped spring clip 14 secured over said projecting edge of the flange 12 resiliently to grip opposed faces of the said projecting edge, said clip having at least one arm 15 laterally projecting from the free end of one limb of the U-shape said arm being in contact with the outer face of the panel or sheet.
