Abstract
1,197,863. Magnetic fasteners; magnetic sealing strips. M. BAERMANN. 7 Feb., 1969 [7 Feb., 1968], No. 6685/69. Headings E1J and E2A. A magnetic strip sealing means for fastening one part of a container with respect to another part, comprises a substantially rigid strip 2 of non-magnetic material adapted to be secured on one side to one part of the container and on the opposite side being formed or (provided with a thinner elastic strip 3 which carries a flexible permanently magnetic strip 5, Fig. 1, or which itself consists of permanently magnetic material having a plane magnetized surface Fig. 2 (not shown) adapted directly or indirectly to coopearte with a ferro-magnetic surface respectively provided on the other part of the container, the one side of the strip being provided with projections 6, 7, and recesses which are adapted to engage tabs 8, 9 bent out of from a sheet metal part of the one part of the container. As shown, the sealing means is provided along at least three sides of the door or frame of the container and joints at the corners thereof are closed by adhesive sheet material.
