Heading [Also in Division F4] A valve, particularly a damper for the primary air inlet 5 of a furnace or stove, comprises a flexible flap 6 secured to one edge of the inlet opening and peeled off its seating by lifting the part of the flap 6 remote from its fixed edge. The front face of a box 2 sealed to the top of the ashpit of a central heating boiler has a triangular opening 5, and a flexible damper 6 secured to the base of the triangle. The downwardly directed apex of the flap 6 is lifted from its seating by a cord 11 attached to a counter weighted lever 10 adjusted by a thermostat through a Bowden cable 9.
