849,574. Check-draught dampers. CHRISTENSEN & CO. A. S., N. A. June 25, 1958, No. 20366/58. Class 126. In an oil stove having a combustion chamber 1 with an air inlet pipe 3 and a flue outlet pipe 4, a branch pipe 5 mounted outside the combustion chamber connects the inlet pipe to the flue outlet pipe. The branch pipe 5 is controlled by a damper 6. In a modification, the branch pipe damper is normally closed, and is opened by the chimney pull against a restoring force such as gravity. The branch pipe damper 62, Fig. 3, has a lug 7 which closes the air inlet 3 as the damper opens against gravity under the influence of the chimney pull. In a further modification, Fig. 4, not shown, an automatic oil supply control is connected to an air inlet damper. The thermostatic fuel control is built into the air inlet pipe.
