Abstract

941,823. Electro-plating baths. DEHYDAG DEUTSCHE HYDRIERWERKE G. m. b. H. July 12, 1962 [Aug. 10, 1961], No. 26837/62. Heading C7B. Electro-plating baths contain an acid solution of a metal ion and a sparingly soluble organic brightening agent in sufficient amount to form a heterogenous plating solution. Preferably the addition agents contain N and S groups e.g. thiazole, thio-imidazole, mercapto-benzthiazole, di-thiocarbamic acid and similar groups. Polyamides, and compounds containing azido- or alkglene-diamino groups can also be used. In examples, the following compounds are contained in a cage immersed in the electrolyte to maintain the solution at saturation point, 4- butyl, 5, 6 benzo-cournarin, N-stearyl-dithio carbamyl-S-propane-#-sodium sulphonate, thiozolpyrazolone, copper albuminate, and piperazine-N-N<SP>1</SP>-bis-dithio-carbamyl-S-sodium propionate. The electrolyte is preferably circulated through the cage, and includes a filter trap.
