Abstract
940,529. Railway vehicle undercarriages. METALASTIK Ltd. May 1, 1962, No. 16641/62. Heading B7L. A railway vehicle comprises a bogie 5, Figs. 1 and 2, a body 6, and a suspension supporting the body on the bogie, the suspension comprising two pairs of rubber springs 16, 16 and 17, 17, one pair on each side of the mid-vertical longitudinal plane L of the bogie, each spring being near a side of the bogie and the pairs of springs having their compression axes C 16 and C 17 directed downwardly and inwardly and intersecting at points P 1 , P 2 , on opposite sides of the plane L, on a common transverse axis T and each point being nearer to the plane than the pairs of springs. In an alternative form the axes C 16 and C 17 may intersect at points P 2 and P 1 respectively. The underframe 7 of the body is supported from the bogie frame 8 by side bearers 33. The springs 16, 17 and side bearers 33 are formed of rubber and metal interleaves and the springs 16, 17 are mounted by wedge members between the underframe and bogie frame as described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown).
