939,319. Knitting machines &c. M. S. MORETTA. Nov. 15, 1960 [Dec. 16, 1959], No. 39137/60. Class 74 (2). A sinker P 1 for a circular knitting machine has in addition to the usual neb 1 and throat 2 a second neb 8 and throat 9 at the same level. The first neb 1 is employed only for the formation of the first course of loops and acts, after the needle 10 has pulled the thread down into the throat 2, to prevent the needle dragging the loop upwards, the needle working in the usual way in front of said neb. For the subsequent courses the second neb 8 only is employed, the needle working behind this neb which functions to calibrate the loop size.
