Abstract

1,015,684. Knitting machine. S. IMON. July 12, 1962 [July 13, 1961], No. 26906/62. Heading D1C. To allow the knitting needles to pass through loops held by the transfer points, when the loops are pulled diagonally by the depending fabric, the underside of each transfer point is provided with a needle receiving groove 3 of inverted U-section one side wall 4 of the groove being approximately equal to the depth of the knitting needle, the other side wall 5 being approximately half this depth. To accommodate the larger side wall 4 each needle trick 8 has that side wall remote from the centre line of the bed cut away. A projection 9 is provided in each trick to prevent the bending of the front end of the needle due to the oblique pull of the fabric.
