952,050. Knitting. E. G. BEASLEY, and E. WESSON. June 1,1960 [March 11,1959], No. 8410/59. Headings D1C and D1K. Heel or toe is shaped during round and round knitting, on an open top circular seamless hose machine having outside knocking-over sinkers, solely by causing all or certain of the heel and toe needles to draw loops over the nibs of the relevant sinkers. The sinkers coacting with the needles concerned are, at all or predetermined revolutions, partially projected at the appropriate location so that the yarn is drawn over flattened upper edges 2a<SP>1</SP> of their nibs. The sinkers to be partially projected have longer butts. When an additional yarn accompanies the main yarn, it will be drawn with it over the nibs of the selected sinkers.
