Abstract

1,183,748. Knitting. G. BILLI & C. S.p.A. 5 Oct., 1967 [15 Oct., 1966], No. 45402/67. Headings D1C and D1K. A knitted fabric has an inelastic laid on yarn extending over some loops and under others in the course in which it is incorporated. To achieve this the needles of a circular machine are selected to cause some to be elevated to a high level to receive the laid on yarn beneath their latches whilst the remainder are retained at a low level and miss the laid in yarn. Subsequently the sinkers are 'inserted and the latter needles raised so that the laid in yarn extends over the backs of these needles. A further yarn is then fed to the needles and knitted whereby the laid in yarn extends over and beneath the previous course loops.
