Abstract

939,087. Lubricators &c. POOR & CO. July 6, 1961 [Nov. 25, 1960], No. 24455/61. Class 12 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] In a railway track lubricator of the type referred to in Specification 854,490, a connecting linkage between the lubricant pump and distributer comprises a ramp lever 1 with integral stub-shaft 2 located in a journal housing 3 of a support-plate 4. The end of stub shaft 2 has a splined portion 6 for entering a corresponding splined bore 9 in a socket member 7. The member has a radial pin 8 which together with a pin 5 on the housing 3, serves as an anchor for a spring 5 which returns the ramp lever to its operating position and in co-operation with the return spring in the pump mechanism eliminates backlash. An identical socket member 7a is in splined connection with pump shaft 15 and in connection with socket 7 by a coupling bar 12, the ends of which have tapered flat portions with elongated heads 11 which engage elongated recesses in the ends of socket members 7 and 7a. Axial movement of the shaft 15 to facilitate assembly of the parts is permitted by the release of a collar within the lubricant pump housing whereby the shaft 15 may be withdrawn away from the distributer.
