937,677. Sound insulating floor; facing tiles. BOSTADSFORSKNING A. B. March 28, 1961 [March 29, 1960], No. 11402/61. Classes 20 (4) and 87 (1). A floor structure comprises a reinforced lightweight concrete plate 1 assembled from a plurality of slabs, on top of which is provided a bottom layer 3 of elastic material, preferably mineral wool, an intermediate layer 4 of spreadout, loose sand, and a top layer 5 of wood or the like in the form of a panel having its edges all round spaced from the building walls for instance by spacers 6 of foam plastic, said sand layer being at least 20% of the total weight of the floor structure, the underside of the plate 1 being provided with a ceiling consisting of unperforated pliant plates 8, preferably of gypsum, carrying sound absorbing material which rests upon or is glued to their upper surfaces, the plates 8 being supported by a framework 11 secured to the light-weight concrete plate. The framework 11 may comprise wooden ribs provided in overlapping relation along one longitudinal edge of each plate before its erection. The floor is stated to be of low weight and to have high sound insulating properties.
