937,134. Propelling mine cars. KEMA KOLN - EHRENFELDER MASCHINENBAU - ANSTALT G.m.b.H. Feb. 19, 1960 [Feb. 19, 1959], No. 6003/60. Class 104 (2). In apparatus for propelling mine cars in which pistons 3 of alternating reciprocating fluid actuated motors 2, 3, located between the rails, actuate slide members 4, interconnected by racks and pinions 6 to propel the mine cars along the tracks by dogs 5 and the reversal movement of the pistons 2, 3 is effected by a reversal device 12 regulating the flow and return of the fluid and having at least one control element 14 reversible by an operating element 7 reversible by movement of the pistons 3. The reversal device 12 and the control element 14 are arranged remotely of the track the operating element 7 being flexibly coupled to control element 14 through a remote control device and the cylinders 2 being connected to the reversal device 12 by conduits 18, 19. In the arrangement shown, the control device comprises a flexible metal band 8 guided in a metal sheath 9 secured and 10 to the motor and adjustably attached at 13 to the reversal device 12. Flexible shafts or hydraulic columns co-operating with return springs or weights may be used in place of the steel band 8.
