Abstract

The main piston (P1) of the actuating ram determines, by its position and direction of movement, the functioning of an auxiliary unit. The latter can be a piston (P2) which can exert an effort outside the ram, and it can incorporate a fluid distribution valve (N), also a sliding rod (T) coupling it to the main piston. Compared with conventional designs using external controls, the advantage is that the maximum protection from shock and corrosion is afforded to the control equipment, apart from simplicity of design.
